Howdy folks,
I have a mac at home & at work, with my primary iTunes library at home.
I wanted to charge my ipod at work (not sync with iTunes), but when I connected it to the computer I screwed something up and it sync'd instead, erasing everything off the ipod.
No biggee, I'll sync at home tonight and fix it. However, is there any way to un-associate my ipod with my work computer so that it will not automatically sync with iTunes, allowing me to connect & charge without losing my songs?
Thanks!

When you first connect the iPod to the work computer in iTunes a box should have popped up asking something like "Sync "ipods name" to this new library?" or something like that, with a yes/no option. Choose no, and you're set.

Correct. I had to do this when I brought my iPod home over Christmas break and it didn't delete any songs in my library.

Heh, I know the question box you're talking about...
Now let's just say that I had a massive brain fart & clicked the wrong button, and iTunes is now perfectly happy to sync my ipod at work without asking me anything.
Is there a way to reset iTunes to ask me again, or a file I can edit to stop this, or.... ?
Thanks again.

When the ipod is connected to the work computer a small ipod icon will show up in the lower-right corner of the itunes window ( next to the equalizer). Click on that to change the ipod preferences.
I really wish there was a toggle on the ipod itself to prevent syncing...
