In a couple of months I'm on holiday in the states (Orlando/the Universal-Disney thing) where would be the best place to buy an iPod. Now that the pound is so strong against the dollar 1.82 and expected to hit 2 dollars by the end of the year I could save £100 - £150 on the 40gig version
if anyone lives near Idrive could you tell me which shopping mall I should be visiting, thanks.

I've been thinking about doing this also.. But if you do, then practice your innocent look for the return trip through customs..
Also, i'm no expert on buying stuff over there, but I know when a Merkin friend of mine buys stuff there, she orders it 'out of state' apparently you escape sales tax that way. I'm sure someone will chime in with more info on that..

There's no cheap places unless you order it online from another state for delivery but since you're going to Orlando, you might as well stop off at the Orlando Apple Store.

thanks for the replies, so just to recap if I buy from the apple store at Millenia do I just pay $499 or does sales tax go on top of this, 6% I think making $529 (can't wait to visit an Apple store) and how would the ordering on-line out of state work?, thanks again.
