i use a roland interface. if you're lucky, the m-audio will just use the generic CoreAudio drivers and you won't have to install anything. this is good, because m-audio isn't the snappiest about posting updated drivers or verifying that old ones work, as i found out with my midisport 2x2

hmm, i guess you got the mobilepre then? you're looking at this page, no? http://www.apple.com/ilife/garageband/accessories.html

did you really need the mic preamps? if so, what mics do you run? i'm sporting a bottom of the barrel audio buddy preamp and would be especially interested in a comparison between the two if you have used both.

i got this preamp bc my friend told me that the iMic just isn't set out for guitar/piano input and what not, so i decided to get this pro one.

I have two midi things fom M-Audio: the 4x4 midi hub and the Oxygen8 keyboard (which acts as a hub as well). They both operate on the same driver (which you get from m-audio.com or the cd that comes with the product). I've never had a problem with either of them.
