Hi, this is my first post here, it is a bit lengthy, but I want to tell the whole problem because I am going crazy trying to figure this out...

I am running an 1GHZ imac 17"screen that I was running out of memory with so I bought an argosy external enclosure (firewire and USB)_that I put a Western Digital Caviar edition 200 GB Ultra ATA drive inside of. I am having trouble with it and need to know what to do next. _It has been going downhill
steadily lately. _I am unable to access all of the files on the drive
inside. _This has just started happening. _I cannot access every file, only certain ones with the firewire connection, but I can access everything with the USB connection. _Then yesterday, the USB connection stopped working. _It wont mount on the desktop. The Firewire connection is also mounting only 2 out of 3 trys. Sometimes with the firewire it tells me that I have intalled a disk that OSX cannot read and do I want to initialize it, but when I turn it off than on again, it will mount. Just this afternoon, the blue light on the front of the enclosure that blinks when it is transferring info stopped working. _It would seem to me that the enclosure is defective. _

I have run Disk warrior on this drive many times and it will fix the problems, only to happen again 10 min later. The catalogues are constantly being mixed up. I have defragged it with norton, run drive 10 on it and checked it with both norton anti virus and virex. Everything says the drive is ok.

Has anyone had any problems like this? _Can you give me any tips or tell me
what to do next? _

Thanks

Chris.

You might want to talk to wherever you got the case from, see if it needs to be replaced.
