Around holiday time, the Little Woman and I upgraded from Palm IIIXEs to Tungsten Es. This also brought on an upgrade of the Desktop software from 2.6x to 4.1. We're running 9.2.2 on the Mac. Sometime after that, my wife's user data started going wonky. Her calendar occasionally freaks out and loses and/or changes an appointment. Also, I'm unable to export any future items from her calendar. I can export her datebook and import it into mine, but it only brings along items with today's date or earlier.

I uninstalled/reinstalled the Desktop software, which did nothing. I deleted her user data and re-synced the handheld, which corrected the problem temporarily, but now it's back.

Any thoughts, anybody? Palm's support is next to useless, and I've tried the Brighthand forums to no avail. Help me, Obi-wan Kenobi, you're my only hope!

If it's just happening on her handheld, it may be a problem on the Palm's end. Try hard resetting it (THIS WILL ERASE EVERYTHING, so make sure you've synced successfully first). Press the reset button on the back while holding down the power button. Release the power button when the "Palm" logo shows up on the screen. Press the "up" button to confirm the hard reset. When all has been reset, sync the Palm with the Mac again.

Good luck!

Well, we're not sure where it's happening. I figured I would repeat the process of deleting the desktop user data, then sync to make a fresh copy of that. Then do a hard reset on the handheld, and resync it to the fresh user data. I just hate to take that plunge considering what might be lost. We've never had good luck updating Palm's software.
Ever had something similar happen? We love the handhelds, but if we can't trust them, there's no point in having them. Thanks for the reply.

Palms are pretty reliable, and all your data should come back after re-syncing. I've generally had good luck with Palm's products.
