xbox controller usb adaptor/cable on a Mac?

Has anyone used an xbox controller on a mac running panther - using the usb Xbox controller adaptor and cable?

I figure it may be cheaper to buy a cable and use an xbox controller/s I already own rather than buying a logitech or similar game controller.

Does the usb adaptor + xbox controller make a good device for mac?

any thought advice or experiences are appreciated.

I'm expecting mine any day now. Ordered one after realizing how much I hated playing Halo with the mouse & keyboard...personaly preference, I guess. Will keep you posted on how it works.
