Hey,
I pulled this drive out of my old G3 that won't even boot anymore. I know its not the drive as I have put it in a friends computer to see if it works and all is well with it. Anyway I'd like to get one of those firewire enclosures I keep hearing about so I can use it with my Powerbook. However I only see ones that say for ATA/6 drives where mine says ATA II. As I don't know really much about drives at all. Please view the jpg here www.meemshouse.com/seagatedrive.jpg (scan of drive label) and tell me if there are any enclosures that will work with this drive.

Thanks

I'm not certain but I think any 3.5" ATA drive will be supported in ATA 6 enclosures. You could double-check with macsales.com (I've got 2 of their Mercury enclosures) or wiebetech.com.

Yes, ATA is downwards compatible. But why would you want to buy an expensive enclosure for a drive that won't boot anymore?
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.

thanks for the replies.

the drive works as I have tested and booted it on my friends machine. I meant that the G3 doesn't boot (i don't know what wrong with it but its not the drive).
