I just purchased my 15 gig IPod and am using the vastly superior ITunes music organizer. Unfortunately, all my brother's music is played by window's Media Player and becausee of that, all of the files are windows Media Files. I can't figure out how to transfer those song files to ITunes? Any help would be great.
iTunes, iPod.....all I know is I love it.

Unfortunately, your brother fell for Microsoft's lock-in tactics. Windows Media Player only rips to WMA. He will have to find a freeware or shareware program to convert (transcode) his WMA files to MP3 or AAC, or else he will need to rip his CDs again to MP3/AAC format.

Reripping will give the best sound, but transcoding will be more convenient.

Here are a few programs I found rather quickly:

http://www.bulletproofsoft.com/audioconverter.html

http://www.shelltoys.com/wma_studio/

http://www.litexmedia.com/wma_workshop/

And here's a whole list of programs for transcoding WMA:

Just grab a audio converter (via download.com or versiontracker.com). Just convert to ACC or MP3 and you'll be fine.
