I just picked up a PowerMate... installed the drivers, restarted... it pulses while the computer is starting up. Then stops. Once I get to my desktop, nothing.

No light. No function.

The sys pref panel works fine, but nothing actually happens with the PowerMate.

Any ideas? I would think it's just dead out of the box, but the light works while restarting...

I had this exact same problem with 10.2.8 - which came out via Software Update the same day I got my PowerMate. I called Griffin and the technician talked me through uninstalling and reloading the driver. There are a few files strewn about your hard drive that a conventional uninstall doesn't get rid of. Might be worth a try... although I don't believe they have a toll free number.

You'll love it once it works! I would definitely say it's not a DOA, as mine did the same thing.
