No way, no how can you do that.

Well, there is one way: replace the inside of that phone with the innards of a CDMA phone.

Seriously, it can't be done. SIM cards tell a GSM phone what network it belongs to, what its phone number is, etc.

CDMA, TDMA, and Nextel phones don't even use SIM cards, and even if they did, that still doesn't change the fact that CDMA and GSM phones use totally different radio hardware.

P.S. PLEASE learn to type and form coherent sentences.

There's no way you're going to get the V600 to work on a CDMA network. CDMA and GSM phones are different in just about every way they could be. The only recent CDMA flip phones Motorola has made are the V60i and T720. The Vx00 series phones are all GSM models. You're out of luck if you're using a CDMA network. There's no way around that limitation no matter what one of your friends has told you.

Not what he told me, it's what I saw. I seen his set up and I know that phone was a differnt provider. I didn't really ask him in detail at the time beause I didn't think about it.

Unlocked GSM phones can roam different providers but they cannot access CDMA networks. A GSM phone is limited to accessing a GSM network. There's no way around this limitation without ripping the guts out of the V600.

GSM is a system based around a radio technology called TDMA, Time Division Multiplexing. TDMA takes an individual radio channel and breaks it up into 8 time slots. The phone picks a time slot to transmit and receive on. The phone gets to use the entire width of the channel for one eigth of a second.

On a CDMA system (Code Division Multiplexing) everyone is sharing the same channels. In order to let more than one person use the channel at once the voice data is spread over the entire width of the channel. The phone gets to use several tiny bits of the whole channel for entire seconds at a time.

Hopefully you can see that the systems are not compatible with one another. GSM and CDMA use entirely different means to send your voice over the air. Your friend can use different networks with his GSM phone but all of those networks have to be GSM networks.

I heard that providers in the US are getting away from CDMA and using the GSM or UMTS standard instead. Can you confirm this?

Regarding your question which is better, tell me whether NTSC or PAL is better and I will be able to give you an answer.

CDMA is a technically superior standard, but GSM providers tend to provide better services (e.g. standardized SMS, data, etc).
