The wireless media player connects to PCs via 802.11g or 802.11b wireless networks, or through standard Ethernet cabling. The device connects to a television or stereo using standard audio visual or S-video cables, the company said.
Costs about $130 and is Windows only!
Nothing to see, move along.

Linksys has something like that coming out too! But it's a little more...it's a Progressive Scan DVD player, w/ wireless G...and hooks up to your TV, and Stereo System. As well as playing DVD's, VCD's, Mpeg, and Divx, practically all digital photo formats, and MP3's...it will also play streaming audio!

The press release says they will introduce one with a built in DVD player and another which has a built in media reader for flash cards.

A pity that I only just bought a DVD/DivX player as this would have been perfect for me.

Have to see what sort of price the built in version goes for, KiSS already do something similar but it is quite expensive and not wireless.
Nothing to see, move along.

Like I said in my original message, Windows only.
When the KiSS player first came out it's client software was Windows only but now there are lots of alternatives available for different platforms including Mac.
Nothing to see, move along.

There are a *lot* of these out on the PC platform. Cheap ones like these tend to suck. The Prismiq is the best I hear. On the Mac platform, there's that new El Gato Eyebox or whatever which seems to be able to do more than those PC iboxes.
