I have an ipod (10 gig with solid state scroll wheel and original style buttons) and I cannot upgrade to the new version 2.0 or 2.0.1 or whatever. I know that without that software, I cannot use the alarm feature.

But isn't there some kind of a hack or patch out there.

All I want to do is wake up in the morning to some cool music.

help!

Nope, no hacks, patches or otherwise. If you want firmware 2.x you have to buy a new iPod.
