I read on MacAddict about this scratch removal product called Ice Creme. MacAddict gave it a top rating but I was skeptical especially since I could go to a nearby store to see a demo or ask questions. Well I had just bought my iPod at this years Macworld Expo and as careful as I have been it has picked up minor scratches. My gosh it scratches really EZ. I received Ice Creme today and tried it out. It does take about a good hour. No hard work involved. The polish must be applied over and over at least 10-12 times. After that I held the iPod up to the light and surprise, the nasty scratches are really gone! Woo Hoo! A must have if you want to keep your iPod in pristine condition.
The Ice Creme kit comes with 3 bottles. Light abrasive, heavy abrasive for deep scratches and a bottle for the metal. The light abrasive is all you need for the plastic. The heavy one is best for the iBook or if your iPod has gotten really beat up.
I highly recommend it to anyone. Sorry no before and after pictures. The scratches I had were only visible under a lamp but no more.
Here's the web sight for anyone interested. Definately worth the money.

BTW I checked out another scratch remover called iCleaner. Doesn't seem bad and it's a bit cheaper but it got some mixed reviews so I didn't go for it.
Hope this helps anyone interested.

Something simpler, once you've eliminated existing scratches or before you get them, is to protect your screen.

I use the DLO Jam Jacket to cover my iPod, with simple PDA screen protectors. Cut them to size and they prevent all those nasty, easy-to-get l'il scuffs and scratches.
