I don't know if this is a hardware or software issue. I have an EZQuest Cobra Firewire HD I have had and used for almost 2 years. I use it for backup. I recently went on a vacation and as usual I backed up my system and then shut down my computer and disconnected the FW DH and took it with me. When I got home I plugged in the FW HD.

Today I turned on the FW HD and it makes all the right noises but does not mount and does not show up as a startup disk either.

I have checked and cleaned all the connections and tried the second FWHD port on my computer and still nothing.

I opened TTP 4.0.1 and when I go to the Hardware test the FireWire test is greyed out and if I press the "i" it says under the property column 'Firewire' and under the value column it says 'Unavailable'.

I'm using a G4 1.25GHz with OS 10.2.6

Can someone point me in the right direction to get my FWDH back up and working?

Found the solution. Someone suggested unplugging my computer for 20 minutes so the fuse could reset itself.

Worked like a champ, FWHD mounting just fine now.
