I'm wanting to get a new PDA....and looking at the Palm lineup. I want one with 802.11b support...but from what I can see, the Tungsten C is the only one that has it built in...and none of the other models have an expansion card available that will enable Wi-Fi! Is this true? Because I don't really want the Tungsten C, nor do I want to pay the price tag. I'd like to just get a Tungsten E or T3, and maybe slap in a card to give it Wi-Fi capability....but ti doesn't look like that's possible!

What's up with Palm not supporting Wi-Fi that well?

Tungsten C is indeed the only Palm brand PDA that has wifi built-in right now. We've been waiting for SanDisk to finish writing the Palm drivers for their SD wifi card. That'd at least provide the option of adding on an accessory that would enable wifi, even though it'd protrude out a bit...

The T|C is getting long in the tooth, to be sure. But the Sony Clie TJ37 is coming soon, and will be <$300, have WiFi, and a built-in camera. Bad news? It will probably require Missing Sync.

Palm OS 6 brings much better networking support, so I suspect palmOne's new OS 6 device lineup will have more WiFi models in it.

I was checking out that SD WiFi card...and it looks like they've been promising drivers for like a year. So I'm kind of not sure if I want to spring for one yet...I'd like to get a Palm...but because all of this...I might just go with another brand....or *gasp* get a PPC...
