i want to watch tv on my ibook. i have an external cable box, so i dont necessarily need anything with a built-in tv tuner. just video-in would do (not even audio is necessary). i also don't want to record anything.

basically i just want the video to show up on my screen. i've seen the eyetv, it looks cool, but it's too expensive.

what other usb or firewire solutions are there?

advice?

i think the eyetv is as cheap as you're going to find given your usb limitation. there is a cheaper pci card but that's no help to you.
