I am about to become a Cannon representative. Can anybody out there give me feedback on the pluses and minuses on their printers, scanners and cameras?

how do you become a canon representative without knowing anything about their products or even how to spell the company's name?

My next door neighbour is a computer salesman, yet is hopeless with computers

I think his marketing ability is probably what they were after.

Alright people. I created this post when I was tired. Yes, I do know how to spell Canon and I do know something about their products. Unfortunately, I haven't used their products in the past. Why haven't you used their products you might ask? I'll tell you why! Its because I represented HP for the past three years. If you can't come up with better responses then to be critical of a simple mistake don't answer the post.

t-h-a-n, my friend. but seriously, you're asking a huge question... answering "what do you think of our product line?" would involving comparing a heck of a lot of peripherals.

Fair enough. The primary product that I will be representing will be their printers. I haven't used them in the past for obvious reasons. And to be honest their past printers were nothing to crow about. Their current ones, on the other hand, do look very impressive. What I am looking for are both the positives and their negatives dealing with their printers. I would also like to know more about the positives and negatives of their scanners and cameras. This is because I will also have the opportunity to sell them as well and would possibly like to replace my current line of HP products with Canon.

Do a search of this forum for "canon". You'll find a plethora of threads in which people swoon about their products.

I'm sorry but this is a ridiculous thread. You were hired by Canon to be a representative of their products and you have to go on a Mac Forum to find out about them? That's like someone being hired as a consultant for a pharmaceutical company and posting on a chemistry message board and asking what ethanol is.

Their printers are great. Great print quality, great ink life (amazing ink life, really; I'm really impressed with my i860 so far), and nice case designs. I'm a Canon fan. But I don't want to represent them.

Everything by them is great but I hear there Mac drivers for scanners are spotty.

Also, there all in one software for Mac's doesn't exist.

Lide 30 - scanner
Eos digital Rebel - camera
i960 - printer

I'm happy with all their products, never any problems with the scanner. The printer is great. Long ink life, very fast photo printing and I much prefer both the 4x6 tray and finish of their glossy paper when compared to my HP Photosmart 7150 which I have given to my daughter.

Yeah what the hell is mine. I mean I printed ~5 border-less 4x6 photos on the highest quality, and probably 50 pages of documents with color and black, and it still says they are full.

edit: To tell you the truth I've been purposely printing crap just so I can make sure the ink level indicator is working.
