ipod screen dissapearing/reappearing problem

I have a 15gb ipod 3rd gen i believe and the screen seems to be going in and out. It will blank out and only come back when i "squeeze" the sides. Anybody else have this issue. All i know is that i'm hitting my local apple retailer tomorrow.
