I did this:

http://www.macosxhints.com/article.p...rinter+windows

I have an iMac with a stupid half ass compatible Photosmart 7550 (**** you HP!) connected to it.

I also have a sony laptop. I used the above link to use the terminal to modify a bunch of files, create a new printer in CUPS, and then windows found it and installed the hardware, bla bla bla.

So I hit print in windows.... and I opened up print center in OSX, and I have two printers... the direct one, and the usb:// one, and that one just says 'generic device being printed' or something like that.... and it never prints.

Anyone? Please help.

Are you using Panther? There are some very strange printing problems going on with Panther. It really seems to be teething problems in the transtion to CUPS. But, of course, that doesn't help those of us who need to print things!! Please read my topic:

HP LaserJet 1220 has gone berserk!

No one in this topic area really had any suggestions.

Actually, for some strange reason it started working fine a day after I did all this. Anyway, if you need to get your printer working with a wireless connection, this is the way to do it!
