I'm trying to setup a backup server using a Powerbook G3 Wallstreet 300MHz. Can anyone recommend any PCMCIA cards with drivers that provide USB 2.0, firewire, or 100mps ethernet ports.

thanks in advance!

I've seen the orange FW cards work well.

The ethernet port on the powerbook is 100Mb/s anyway, afaik. It went to gigabit ethernet with the 550/667 titanium models.

Don't know of a USB 2.0 one, although I'm sure there are some out there.

I had an IBM Firewire card that I got for about $30 on my Wallstreet about a year and a half ago. That worked fine.

Not sure about ethernet either, although I do know the Wallstreet does have 10 megabit ethernet. Later PowerBooks had 100 megabit ethernet, and then of course the 550/667 PowerBook G4s had gigabit ethernet.

"That's Mama Luigi to you, Mario!" *wheeze*

I tried the Orange Micro USB/Firewire combo card. It didn't work fully in OS 9. This was a couple of months ago and if I remember correctly, it was the Firewire portion of the card that didn't work correctly. This was on both a wallstreet and Lombard. I think that it would have worked in OS X

Just small correction.
The Wallstreet models have only 10Mb/s ethernet.
Maybe Pismo has 100Mb/s?

Thanks for all the suggestions - yes the Wallstreet Series II 300MHz only has 10mps ethernet. Netgear has a fairly inexpensive card that provides 10/100mps but I can't seem to find an OS X driver for it. If I can find one, I'll get it plus the Orange Micro fw card I shoud be set.

SIIG's webstore outlet section has USB1, USB2 (Cardbus) and firewire PCMCIA cards at good prices. They also support Mac and have current OS9 and Panther drivers free downloads.
