Instead of USB, you now use your headphone/speaker jack. Fantastic! Great for Macs, PCs and iPods!

So... What's the difference? The price between the two is still the same...

All as artificial as the Matrix itself, although only a human mind could invent something as insipid as Love.

Those speakers are so obscenely overpriced it's not even funny. You can get the same sound quality for 1/4 the cost by choosing speakers that don't look like an acrylic sex toy.

I've got SoundSticks (v1.0) and IMHO there's little that comes close to them in terms of appearance - though it is, of course, down to personal opinion at the end of the day.

I like the fact that they are unobtrusive (being largely clear) and have a small footprint. I am also more than satisfied with performance, and they work with both my Mac and my PC.

I would only consider something like Klipsch ProMedia's as an alternative, but they are vulgar looking in comparison. The person that mentioned industrial design earlier on in this thread hit the nail on the head.

I agree 100%. My soundsticks have been solid since the day I got them 3 years ago. Love these speakers, better then some LOUDER, BOOMIER, black rectangles.

I hate the look of the THX speakers that I paid > $200 for with my Dell. They look like fat guys in fencing uniforms...They sound good, though one speaker seems really low for some reason.

I want soundsticks for my new G5...when I get around to getting one that is.

They should match your Dell nicely then.

Yup. That is why the CPU is waaaaaaaaaaaaaay under the desk. When I get the G5, the side is coming off and it will be in full view for all to drool over!!!

The thing about SoundSticks that very few speakers have is that they are autoswitch dual-voltage. If you move back and forth from the US to Europe as I do, these rock! Now that they don't take up one of my USB ports, I'm buying a set.

Can't remember the quote from xmas story when the kid describes the hooker stockinged leg lamp but that's how I describe these.
If a group of mimes are miming a forest and one falls down, does he make a sound?
