apple wireless keyboard little plastic things in battery compartment

hi i just bought a apple wireless keyboard, and in the battery compartment are these two plastic sheets, (that's the best i can describe them), and they are attached to the keyboard, do i cut these off or do i leave them on, please help thanks

Put the batteries in over them. When it's time to remove the batteries you pull the little 'sheet' and the batteries pop out.

awesome, i didn't kno that thanks. i'm a former windows user so i overcomplicate the simplest things apple does. hehe

also, do i need to install the cd rom if i already have bluetooth 1.5?

Practically everything that comes with batteries has these strings, not just Apple products.

Just click the Software Update in System Prefs and make sure your up to date. Then you should be ready to go.

At least every product that has a battery compartment you can't easily fit your fingers into. Since at least the late 1970's. (Usually a red ribbon in the past, clear plastic in newer gadgets.)
