As I thought I would, I got caught up in the hype of the release of the mini. I bought a silver one from Best Buy. I got it home and took it out of the box, and played with it until today. It is truly an improvement over the 3G iPods. The new scroll wheel works really great. You never have to worry about the touch sensitive buttons turning it on or changing settings. The case is truly an improvement over the current model. No worries about scratching it or smearing it up. Apple has a winner in the new iPod and it will be interesting to see how many of the mini's features go into the 4G iPods.

But I had just bought a new 20GB iPod last month. I had given two 20GB models to family members and needed another. I sat in my home with both my mini and my 20GB in front of me knowing full well I would only use just one of them. I tried to justify the purchase by telling myself I would use the 20GB for an external HD backup with my Powerbook. I ended up returning it today to Best Buy knowing it was an unneeded purchase. Can someone tell me when and where the next Appleholics Anonymous meeting will be held?

Well, at least you returned it...if you were a total chronic, you might have bought another one in a different color

You should have sold it on eBay in chance of making a profit.

LOL @ saranwrap. TRUE

I would have kept the mini and sold the 20gb. If I needed a hard drive I would have bought something a *tad* faster.

You should've sold it on eBay to UK or other non-USA buyers. You almost certainly would've made a profit. Given the strength of GBP Sterling right now, you could've upped the price a bit and it still would have been "cheap as chips" for us!
