I'm considering one of the Tungsten T handhelds.

I don't see much difference between the T and T2 models other than a slightly faster processor. Sounds like it's not worth the extra $80 or so.

Opinions?

Porquoi?

EDIT: I wonder what would make one choose a Tungsten E over a Palm 71 or vice versa? They're awfully close in price....

The T|E is much slimmer than the Zire 71. However, it doesn't include a camera in the processor is somewhat slower (but it doesn't really matter). I like my Tungsten|E, except the finish mars way to easily.

The Tungsten|T3 is the best of the T line... the screen is spectacular. Sadly, battery life is pretty mediocre.

Don't overlook the new Clie TJ37... for $300, it has built-in WiFi and a Camera.

The key for your decision is what would you be used for.

I had a T3 and I like it for the fact that it can do widescreen and the gatiffai area can be minimised to extend the viewing area is a big tick for me. For that it's value for money over T or T2.

the T2 has a better screen and more memory then the T1, plus it has some of the minor bug fixes that first plagued the T1, I would skip the T1 altogether and go for the T2. Now depending on your needs the T3 may suit you better. The downside to the T3 is the battery life, if you don't need the extra memory, better screen resolution, landscape, and upgraded apps, I would choose the T2.

fwiw, I was going for the T2, until I saw a sale/rebate/price match that brought the T3 down to the T2 and I've liked the T3, its an awesome machine but I would not have sprung for it if the prices wasn't right.

good luck
Mike
