Because I'll get me a mini, I sold my original 5Gb but still kept the car charger (PowerPod from Griffin). Is this charger compatible with the iPod mini?

I don't think so. If your charger has the Dock connection on the end, not the Firewire connection, then it would work. But if I'm not mistaken, it has the Firewire connector on the end.

The PowerPod works for both old and new iPod's, only the cable is different. Here is a link to the product description.

Oh, well then it should work just fine. Unless the iPod mini has some sort of odd connection that I'm unaware of. But I am almost 100% sure they have the same connector as the 3G iPods.

Odd cable or perhaps another charge voltage...
I sent an e-mail to the Griffin people, I'll post the answer here as soon as I get it.
