hello there, i have a sony Multiscan G420 Trinitron monitor with my g4. my actual config if 1920 X 1440 @ 60 Hz.... its of good quality and my editing is great with it. the problem is my eye . im forcing it too darn much. is it the 60Hz rate or just the small size.

please help me, what would be the solution for my problem, a higher rate? 70 Hz ?

thanks

60hz refresh rate will definitely cause a headache. On top of that, the extremely small text is most likeyl causing eye strain. If you are under fluorescent lighting (which flickers at 60hz) I am suprised you don't have migrain headaches.

Out of the two problems, I think the small text is probably causing the most problem. Try reading a newspaper that is 4 feet away from you. It's almost the same thing. Try decreasing the resolution and see if the eye strain goes away. When you decrease resolution, typically monitors/graphics-cards refresh at a higher frequency. 70+ is good, 80+ is better.

Get a life man - how can you expect someone else to say "the text is too small for you" or "the refresh rate is to low for you." No one here knows who you are, or what your _personal_ preference is. You are alive. Figure it out for yourself.

IMHO 60hz is way too low to maintain sanity. Having said that it's really up to you.

If you really want to get the idea of how a CRT refreshes, just wave your hand in front of one.
Aloha
