I lost my G1 ipod earbuds and would like to replace them with another ever-so-trendy white pair from people selling them on ebay. Do the G3 earbuds (which constiture the majority of the listings) work in G1/G2 models? I don't care about remote functionality.

all earbuds are using the same jack, what are you talking about?

the only difference between the 1st and 2nd-3rd generation is the buds got smaller and i think it has black foam???

Pretty much every consumer grade headphone, and certainly every headphone designed for portable use, uses the same universal minijack.

it's all making sense now...i was confused about the remote control connector. I guess that doesn't matter now! thanks...
