Good morning all!

I have issues. My girlfriend has a HP PSC 750 Printer at the moment. It came with Mac and Windows Drivers, so I thought this was good. Drivers wont install on my Mac in Panther it seems.

Check HP website, says 'Mac OS X 10.3 Drivers: Coming Soon' (read: never).

Bugger!

So anyway, she wants to buy an iBook, but wont buy it if it doesn't work with her printer. I looked on the net, and it said that I could use the GimpPrint HP Deskjet 900 drivers or something, but I got really lost then.

My Questions!
Does anyone here have a HP PSC 750 that is working with Panther? Can you help me? (please!!) Any advice on installing this Deskjet 900 driver instead? Failing that, does anyone have a different workaround to use some kind of generic driver to print?

Thank you very much!

Aww, c'mon guys, I know one of you want to help me! Sure it isn't the most interesting topic to post in, but I'd really appreciate it!

I use a HP PSC 750 w/ my 17" pbook, and I haven't had any driver problems with Panther. When I got the printer, I was running Jaguar, (10.2.4 I think...), and I had to call HP tech support to get some TWAIN drivers installed before it would print at all (print center would send the document, and the printer would get it , and think it was printing , but it would hang in the queue). Once I got tech support at HP to send me those drivers online, I haven't had a single problem, even while updating OS X all the way through Panther.

What exactly is the problem you're having...

Ripper! So you use it in Panther and it actually works? Basically, the setup assistant can't recognise it. One of the last stages of setting up the driver is to have the printer plugged in, and select it from the list. It doesn't seem to see it at all.

You have given me hope though that it might work if I try again on her iBook (if she gets it).

Cheers mate! If I have more issues I hope you don't mind if I ask you about that TWAIN driver in the future.
