Hi All,

I'm trying to daisy-chain two firewire devices together: a DVD burner first in the chain, and a portable hard drive second in the chain.

The burner mounts (tested by putting in a pre-burned disc), but the hard drive does not. This is happening with two Macs (a 12" iBook/800, and a G4 desktop/500).

Both devices are reported as being present in System Profile.

Note: the hard drive _does_ mount when it's attached alone to a Mac.

I've tried three cables, in every order (so it's unlikely to be a cable).

The funny thing is, I could have sworn that this worked ok when I first got the DVD burner last week (but now I'm doubting my memory :-(

Is there a way for me to force mount a firewire hard drive that the Mac knows is there?

Thanks in advance for any help,

Chas

ps. I'm _pretty_ sure that this is an unrelated problem to my earlier DVD burner problems I reported a few days ago
