I saw that new flash based hd. How long is a life on those things. I would like to swap my hd from my power book. If I put osx on a flash based hd what is the life before it gets erased and is the specs good .

for a hd. I know the access time is very good but I think with the heat of the power book I won't be able to will I. It has a 5 year warranty. Im sure the price will be like 500 bucks but I will have to see.

Where did you get the idea that it's flash? It's not, it's just high RPM from what I read. Also, no way in heck you'll ever fit a 2.5" drive with a SCSI interface into your current powerbook. I think these are aimed at the enterprise market, in desktop machines.

scsi works with the pcmcia slot. so I can have 300 gigs wow.

But is that flash based if I install it 2.5 inch ata will it be fast and also will it be stable for me to take places. My question is will it last for 5 to 10 years with the data in it.

The 90gig version is somewhere over $40,000. They haven't quoted an exact price yet as far as I know.
