Hi everyone (sorry for the dual post in Mod),

About a month ago I got an internal BUSLink CD-R/DVD drive to replace the original Hitachi drive which burned out on my G4/400.

After installation, everything was working great, burning, playback, etc.

Then I tried to boot from it for Norton Utilites (holding C while restarting). The screen showed a big OS9-style folder with a question mark, which changed to a Happy Mac. The screen went gray with an unmoveable mouse pointer in the top left.

Same thing when I tried to set the CD as the Startup Disk from System Prefs.
I ended up having to restart after ejecting the CD. I tried a few different discs to the same results.

Any thoughts?

Thanks
