How do I give a HP 4200n printer a readable Rendezvous name similar to an ATK name?

Open Safari
Find the printer in Bookmarks - Rendezvous
Set the name to what you want.
That's how it's done with other Rendezvous enabled printers from HP.

My 2 HP 4300's would only give stupid, unusable names in Rendezvous (the MAC address, I think) until I updated the firmware to the latest release from HP. Use the printer's web interface to find your way to their DL page. After that upgrade, there was then a editable field to name them as I wanted- FAR more useful. Having 2 printers that do rendezvous but present themselves in cryptic code defeats the purpose!
My current firmware is R.25.09.

Finally, the option to change the Rendezvous name....thanks for the heads up!

Where do I enter the printer's rendezvous name?
First: I was unable to upload the firmware with the HP Printer Utility 4.5. HP support responded promptly with instructions that are completely different from those in the firmware distribution. I used FETCH to FTP the firmware to Port1 on the printer. Worked fine.
Firmware Datecode: 20031217 04.017.3 .
I've entered a "Host Name" in the TCP/IP page, but in Print Center the Rendezvous printers still show only the MAC hardware name. Same thing in Safari Bookmarks - Rendezvous.
Where do I enter the printer's rendezvous name?

Open the printer's web management page, click the 'networking' tab, and then the 'Other Settings' button (on the left). You will then be able to change the 'mDNS Service Name' (mDNS is what Apple calls Rendezvous).

Thanks for the information.
The mDNS box is not open in the hp4200.
The firmware (downloaded this week) info is:
Model Number: J6057A
Firmware Version: R.24.08

Success: After re-reading the second set of instructions from HP support and downloading the second distribution, the firmware is :
Model Number: J6057A
Firmware Version: R.25.09
Now the mDNS box is open.
