Wow, they sure take a long time to make!!! Do they really take that long or is that just a generous amt of time?

I was quoted 30 days on a custom made iVod 3G. They said the lead time was pretty firm as the case is in essence hand made.

I ended up opting for a "pre-built" iVod at the Apple store. I'm considering getting a custom made AP52 (flip cover) but after all is said and done it would run over $100 bucks. For the time being the iVod is almost perfect.

As for the case quality it truly is amazing. I'm a very fickle consumer and I generally demand nothing short of perfection, especially on "luxury" items. This case has far exceeded my expectations and does a wonderful job at protecting and, in a way, further stylizing my iPod.

I really liked the style of their cases over the other ones.. My old 20gig (which just got replaced by a newer 3g 20 gig as the older one broke) simpy had the old iSee case (plastic around iPod). I also had the SFBags one at one point too.. I decided to go ahead and order the iVod case and hope for the best. I ordered a custom colored one and the quote was 30 days. It being friday, I know they won't even check their email / order system utnil at least Monday. I guess that black sleeve will have to do in the meantime.

Do you find that the case/ ivod makes the iPod look really thick? I know I came from an old 2g 20gig which was HUGE compared to the 3g iPod.. But I really like the sleek thiness off it. How much thicker will this now be?

I also have the Super-duper iPod case from Waterfield Designs. While I really like Gary's stuff the lack of any real screen protection while using the device made me look elsewhere. Also I like the idea of keeping my ear buds with the iPod but the flap/storage pocket design wore on me after a while. The first case I purchased for my iPod was an Incase leather sleeve. I think I used it one time; I got the feeling it was designed for the thinner units as the fit was extremely tight. Incase swears it's universal... maybe I was just paranoid. Now both my Waterfield case and Incase reside in my closet.

As for thickness, I have a 30GB so I can't tell you how the 20 GB will be; however my case adds 6 mm, roughly a quarter of an inch, to the overall thickness of the iPod.

Possibly my favorite feature of the iVod is the clear screen/front cover. Not only does the plastic cover the screen but it also covers the entire front of the unit except for the four control buttons and the scroll wheel. It's perfectly aligned and appears to be very good quality plastic. Not the cheap "film" found on a lot of other cases. Hopefully this will go a long way to keep my iPod looking relatively new.

Hope this information helps!

The reason why I chose the Vaja too was because (like in the case of the WF design one) I don't beleive in having a case that makes the iPod look bulky.

I take it you can't use the dock with the iVod right? Do you find yourself removing your iPod often to dock or listen to music on your stereo or do you just use the plug in cable (as opposed to docking)?
