Hey all, I just got an excellent deal on a 19" EN9110 LCD, and let me start off by saying that I'm impressed by the quality of this screen. Anyhow, it's specs list it as being capable of a max resolution of 1280x1024@85 Hz, fine with me. In fact, hooked up to the OEM Apple ATi Radeon 9000 Pro which came with my PowerMac G4, that's just what I get, 1280x1024@85Hz.. so what is the wierdness ? Well, I have a flashed Geforce3 that I use in my PowerMac, and with the LCD hooked up to the GF3, I get a max resolution of 1600x1200@60Hz, as you can see by looking at this screenshot !!! Now this is great, I love having 1600x1200.. I just am very surprised because all the specs indicate that the screen won't go higher than 1280x1024.. and I also tried and played UT2004, Raven Shield, and Halo succesfully at 1600x1200.. and they look fantastic! So basically, there has to be a tie with the GF3- in any case, fine with me!

Interesting. But I suspect the monitor taking the 1600x1200 video signal and scaling it down to a 1280x1024 matrix (much the way a plasma TV will scale down a 1080i signal to a 720p image). If you were to do a pixel-by-pixel search of video information, you'd find pixels are missing (not being displayed I should say).

The option to show 1600x1200 on the nvidia card must be due to differences in how the DDC information is read from the monitor vs. the ATI card.
