just wanted to give a heads up to any users out there, just applied the update and I can't scan on the machine, although I can still print fine. This is over the Wireless adapter, not sure of any other connection. I get an error saying its unable to communicate. Still works fine on a 10.3.2 machine.

[Sigh]
This is exactly how it happened with my 6110 HP All-In-One when I upgraded from 10.2.7 to 10.3. Wonder how many months it will take HP to update the AIO software this time?

Pfff, what else is new.
Funny thing is my Canon drivers that worked from 10.2.6 still work the same in 10.3.3.

No one is doubting Canons drivers, I have a portable printer from them that is top notch. When Canon releases an AIO that Faxes,Scans,Copies,Duplex Prints and has Ethernet and Airport (802.11) built in, not to mention Rendevous support, then we'll talk.
I'm gonna reset permissions and reinstall the drivers and let everyone know.
UPDATE
Well that seems to have done the trick, as I'm now able to scan again!

The scary thing is what the hell is HP programming if with ANY OS update their drivers totally brake when EPSON and Canon drivers are solid even after a major OS update?

You can count in Lexmark here on the positive side. I run the same driver since 10.1.x! No problems ever!

HP's AIO software has issues out the wazoo.
First of all, the scan/fax functionality is totally dependent on a background app called "HP Communications." It is located in the /Library/Printers/hp directory and runs as a User process. This program is extremely fragile. Fast user switching totally screws it up, since logging in as two users at once results in two HP Communications user processes conflicting with each other.
Every OS upgrade also seems to play havoc with the HP support files. The more I read about how fixing permissions and reinstalling seems to help, the more I wonder whether the HP software requires some non-standard permissions setup in order to work properly. When you upgrade the OS, it "fixes" the permissions, which breaks the HP software. In order to fix the HP software, you need to reinstall from scratch, which allows the HP installer to much with the permissions to make the software happy. This is just a theory, but the problems with HP software seem too closely related to permissions issues to be a complete coincidence.

True, but the hardware is the worst on the market.
