I was wondering where I could find affordable wireless lapel mic's with moderate pricing and decent quality. I've been searching the net and can't find much. I need this for a amateur movie me and my friend are doing in scenes where were outside and don't want to use just the cameras mic. Boom mic's are also an alternative but seem to much of a hassle but any info is appreciated. My price range is between $50-$150.

SONY do some good medium price mics. They have higher end digital mics that start at £50 here in the UK

If your serious and might do more home movies, I would strongly recommend Audio-Technica. I have used them for high quality recording of voice and music applications. IMHO, they are VERY good.

Good luck with the shopping, check out Dealtime (or similar) for the best web based pricing.

many people don't even bother with this and just record audio seperately and record it over the video... (voiceover)

just a suggestion...

These kind of things ain't cheap. Azden makes what is as far as I know, the cheapest of the cheap: $250.

Their cheapie model is also VHF, which doesn't have the range or interference rejection capabilities of a UHF system, which is , surprise, more expensive.

I would get a wired lapel mic (a "lavalier") and run it down the actor's leg. Most of the time this will be out of frame, or can be easily hidden. The only time that won't work is when the actor is really far away. Here I would dub in the dialogue as suggested above. Dubbing works so much better when it's hard to see the actor's lips moving.

Wired lavaliers can be had for as cheap as $20, though I would spend as much as I could.
