I already have a Samsung 172T and it's a great monitor, even with VGA. I'd use the 1701 as a second monitor - my Samsung 172T would be hooked up via DVI and the 1701 via VGA. At times it'd be used just as a TV (cable). How's the VGA text quality? How's the tuner quality?

Or else I'll just buy a cheap 13" TV and get a 173T later as the second monitor.

I am also tempted by these multifunctional lcd monitors, but I have concerns regarding the usability. I can't see myself watching TV when it is on a desk on a higher position. This is probably not very comfortable.

This is for use while I'm sitting at the desk anyway, doing other stuff. I already have a nice TV for pure entertainment purposes.

However, I've been looking around and the reviews of the overall quality of these monitors has not been stellar. I may just get a separate 14" TV and be done with it.
