if you're still apprehensive, you can always have your bag hand checked.

Today you wouldn't! It's absolutely pouring rain island wide. A shearline is stationary over the island chain with clouds and showers for the next 5-6 days, especially windward and mauka (mountains) sides of the islands, though it's supposed to rain leeward as well. Good time to be going on a trip!
Actually, as beautiful as Maui is, it's really really nice to get away at least once a year or "island fever" sets it. I'm headed to the mountains of Idaho and Colorado, looking forward to it
The reason why I asked about the digital storage cards is because I read something recently where a traveller in India had his Palm device messed up by Indian x-ray machines.
Even though it sounds like it's ok in the USA, I may put all my cards in a clear ziploc and keep them in my pocket, then hand them to the dude at the checkpoint. Just my luck that the Maui checkpoint guy came to work stoned and turned up the juice to high on the x-ray machine, "bruddha, let's turn it up to 11"
