i am the proud owner of a 933Mhz g4 ibook but of course i don't have a super drive and i was wondering how capable is the a107 as a external dvd writer would be with panther? i am asking because i i have ilife 04, DVDSP 2, along with others but those are my main concern right now for use with the pioneer a107.

I would really like some input on this because the patchit II patch worked with some burners but with the new 10.3.3 update things have changed so if there are anyone out there who has this drive in this particular setup please give me your views about this. Thank you!

I have roughly the same setup. ibook G4 800, and the Pioneer 107 in a Pyro firewire enclosure and everything works very well. You do need the patch to use iDVD, but other than that it works very well and very fast. I only have Ritech 4x media and I haven't had a problem yet. I also use Toast 6 and not a problem with the drive. You can't go wrong with the combo.
