Hi.
I have been using airport with a powerbook 12 and a dual G4 for about 4 months now. I am very pleased with it but I must say I have had to reinitialized it 3 times so far. The last time was a few minutes ago. I lost my connection (DSL) and the base station disappeared from my airport admin pannel. No more base station and the password I had was not accepted (because the network disapeared as well I guess).

I had to restart the base but this time it was hard to do so ... It kept on asking me the password ... and it was refused every time. It finally worked.

Do you sometimes experience the same kind of problem with your base station ?

Thanks

I've had occasional problems but I think over-reaction to a problem has made it more difficult than it should be. Recently, if I have a problem with the wireless connection after waking the computer from sleep, I just put it to sleep again and wake it up again and it connects. If that doesn't work, I simply unplug the base station and plug it back in again. I haven't had to reset/reinitalize for quite some time. This is using a cable modem though, not DSL. Your results may vary.

I have problems with AEBS all the time, it is the most unreliable product I've ever used in my entire life. But I guess the bright side of it is that it's a nice looking $300 paper weight.

I used an Airport for 2 years, and now have been using an AE for 6 months, and I never had a restart or a lockup. Ever. I updated the firmware 3 or 4 times total, but never had s single problem.

I did have some connectivity problems every once in a while, but it was always my DSL modem, never the Airport. Rebooting the cable modem and I was all set.

That said, I believe there have been some cases of flaky firmware. Have you updated to the latest version? Running Airport Admin will ask and install the latest version.
