I'm wondering if this is specific to my setup, or if it's how iPods work. If I plug it into my Dock which is connected to firewire, it will start charging. But if I leave it there during the night, the next morning it will display the fully loaded battery icon, but if I unplug it, it has barely any power at all. If I put it back it will start to recharge again.
Shouldn't having the iPod connected to the dock guarantee that it's fully loaded?
My computer is on during the night, it's not sleeping or anything..
Help would be appreciated

Both my mini and my regular 3G iPod show the "Charged" icon on the screen, but when I take the iPod out of the dock the battery indicator is still at the level it was at when I docked it. However, I start playing music on it, and the indicator slowly goes up until it reads as full. Does yours do this too?
Mine also charges when I put it right back in the dock, but it's just a trickle charge to top off the battery and it shows "Charged" again after about 15-20 minutes. Both iPods have stellar battery life and I don't think anything's wrong with them.

I'll put my iPod in the dock overnight and see if it "refills" the battery if I use it a while.
I haven't tried this before, but I remember one time I just took it out of the dock and used it for 40 minutes on the bus, and then it was empty..
What I've been doing now is putting it in the dock when I wake up and let it charge for 1,5 hour or so.
Thanks for the answer!

whenever I take mine out of the dock is shows the level of battery that it had when I put it in the dock some time before.
However, as with Cellery, once I begin to play music it jumps up to full battery icon.
Also, there was something here a bit ago about iPods being drained of their juice when the computer they're attached to goes to sleep....I believe.
