My 10 year old daughter wants an iPod (she's awesome isn't she).
She has an older Imac with usb only. I dont' want her on my Mac.
Is there any way for her to download music from itunes and from her own cd's
to an ipod on a non FireWire Mac???????
thank you,
PJ

No, alas. iTunes on the Mac will only recognize an iPod over FireWire.

Now that Apple has made it possible to use iPods through USB 2 on the Mac as well... would it work with USB 1.1 too?

I would think so. Unless Apple specifically went out of their way to prevent it (which I don't put past them)!
