Hi, the hard disk my Yosemite has inside, an IBM 60 GB, has bad sectors. It has two partitions to use with Mac OS 9.2 and Panther. So, I can check with TechTool Pro 4 under Mac OS X that it has bad sectors, but seems that TTP4 does not indicate them so they will not be used in the future. That is annoying, when I try to boot from Panther partition, the disk does the typical 'raat raat' trying to read bad sectors and it does not boot. No problem under the Mac OS 9 partition that has no bad sectors.

I think that the Mac OS 9 TTP version indicates bad sectors so they are no more used, but I think the app must delete the disc and then mark bad sectors. So the question is, any way to prevent the bad sectors are read without delete the partition?, any other utility maybe?.

Thanks.

Up to date: I did the fool about the original info sorry. The yosemite has two disk, one 6 GB from factory, Maxtor, and the one that has two partitions and bad blocks, a 60 GB IBM, each IBMīs partitions have Panther installed on it. One is the 'main' partition aimed to use as daily basis, the another one, barely 7 GB, is kinda 'peace of mind' safety partition, I can boot from that 7 GB partition without trouble, but the +- 50 GB with bad blocks is another story. So I can boot from Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X to try to solve this issue. Any advice is welcome

If as I guess, I need to delete the disc, well, letīs do it, but at least, indicate the bad sectors to prevent a future use.
