memory stick problme

Hi guys i have a problem with a sony memory stick.

When i stick it in the PC card adapter the mac wont recognise it (worked fine yesterday) and says that its not a readable volume or something. I tried sticking it back in the cybershot and formatting it and i get an error message as well. Anyone have any ideas? i dont want to think that its buggered, its a 128mb stick and cost me like $250 (aus) new.
