One of my video cards recently died. Rather than upgrade I ended up buying the same card again. Now that I've installed it my monitor refuses to show anything. I've checked the connections and the monitor is on. I even switched the monitor cables and repro'd the same thing on my other monitor. Is there something I need to reset?
Also, I noticed something else that might assist. The bad card displayed this information in the system profiler when I previously looked it up:
ATY,Rage128Pro:
Type: display
Bus: AGP
VRAM (Total): 16 MB
Vendor: ATI (0x1002)
Device ID: 0x5046
Revision ID: 0x0000
ROM Revision: 113-63001-110
However, when I look up the replacement card this is what I see:
pci1002,404:
Type: VGA-Compatible Controller
Bus: AGP
Vendor: ATI (0x1002)
Device ID: 0x5046
Revision ID: 0x0000
Note: There's no VRAM or ROM Revision info and the card name is different. What gives? I made the purchase from this site.
http://www.computerasset.com/advert.asp?id=2058. So is this card not the same after all?
Thanks
