My daughter is beside herself. Her pink mini ipod STILL says "estimated ship date on or before 4/28," which is tomorrow. We've received nothing about a delay -- are minis being shipped or is there still such a backlog we'll/she'll get bad news later today or tomorrow?

Sure hope my family remembers what I wanted for my birthday/Mother's day and ordered MY mini in a timely fashion...

Every delay notice I received was on the day that it was supposed to ship. Still waiting on the pink mini? I hope you receive it soon.

She ordered on 3/30 -- so it was 4 weeks today. Anyone else order around that time? Anyone else now have theirs, if they did?

I ordered mine on 03/16 and it shipped on 04/15.

I received an e-mail stating that there would be a shipping delay until the first of May but it ended up shipping earlier than their e-mail stated.

Hope this helps,
hondo

Last night: finally got the dreaded "due to popular demand you can upgrade to a larger ipod for free" note. (I would have gone for it; counseled the 14-year-old that she'd ALWAYS be sorry and to wait for her pink mini.)

This a.m. -- It's shipped! I called her school and asked them to send her a note between classes. So the estimated shipping date was only off by a day.

This just breaks my heart a little bit more. I placed my order on 2/27/04 and have yet to receive my green mini. I'm on my third OOB date, which is now 5/25/04. However, this is an educational order. I got the discount, therefore, I perceive that I'm not high on the list for shipments.

I have called Apple, am not qualified for the 15GB iPod upgrade being that I ordered it through an institution. As they said, "It never hurts to ask."

Getting more and more bummed everyday...

That is very, very peculiar! Ours was ordered through a teacher, so we DID pay the educational discount. (and as a matter of fact, I did worry that that would bump the order to the bottom of the list.)

We do have an order for a green mini outstanding. It was ordered in mid-April, with a May 17 shipping date. Have no clue if that date will be met or not.

Did you order for the institution or for yourself? Ours was a personal order, but with the educational discount.

And good luck. Your situation seems very, very unfair.

And by the way, my daughter LOVES her new mini.

You know, there stands a chance that either I or Apple screwed up and made this a purchase for the university versus making this a personal purchase and giving me the discount. I have only been working for the university here for nearly a year and this has been my first experience using the educational discount through the organization here.

So in the end, this could be a rookie error.

DOH!

Maybe you can go back through and check -- maybe you would get it faster if you switched the order around.

I read something yesterday about rumors about a 4th-generation ipod SUPPOSEDLY nearing release. So now I'm wondering what that might be about and if I'd like it better than a mini. Decisions, decisions -- especially those that aren't based in fact1

For starters, my mini shipped today from Shanghai. Very happy to hear, but holy crap, about time. I wanted to switch the order, but I also ordered a dock at the same time which came in a few days after the order, so that was a no go. Order was partially shipped.

Have also heard about the 4G rumors. If I would have my mini some months ago versus getting in some time this week, I would have held out. Always a hard call to make.

Our second mini shipped on the 10th as well. It's a week early, believe it or not, and I expect it to be delivered in an hour or so.

My birthday was yesterday, so I got a picture of the mini (green) ordered for me. It won't ship until June 8, apparently. Now THAT's really close to the rumored 4G release, so I'm somewhat conflicted. But -- the mini is engraved, so I guess I'llb e sticking with it.

(Of course, I repeatedly mentioned delay times. You'd think my family would have gotten the hint! I mentioned to my daughter getting the green one today that I could take hers -- after all, it is my birthday! She said no way.

Just FYI:

Try your local Apple store.

The New York City Soho Apple store had about 70 in stock last Thursday.

All colors except pink.

Yes I know its unfair, but Apple is making an effort to at least keep that store stocked.
