Iv had no problems with epson in the past. iv had the c82 and now im stepping up a notch.
That still didn't answer my question.

If the resolution is the exact same but one has 6 inks or 8 vs 3 would the 8 be better or is it more a matter of saving money since you have 8 inks to come up with a print vs 6 or 3. Pluse the r800 has fw and usb 2.0

The more inks the better the picture will look colour wise. 6 is really all you need though.

Well, I won't bother with the first two, since, as is painfully clear to all users of these boards, you closed your mind to this topic LONG ago. I know you disagree, so you needn't post as much again, but I think the R-800 looks sweet. And thank you, I do not require another link to your Canon printer crusade.

Here's an interesting review of the R-800. Their C80 review is linked to as well. One important note goes to akward's 3rd post about 6 vs. 8 inks. This last post illustrates beyond a shadow of a doubt his sheer ignorance on this topic. Epson's Gloss Optimizer cartridge is one of the most exciting things in ink jet photo printing in a long while. I'm thinking of picking one of these up as well. It'll be a nice to have around when I don't feel like using the Epson 4000 I have on order...

FIne, the less colours the better it will look. 6 colours will only look good if it comes out of an Epson NOT an Canon.

Happy?
