So the other day I downloaded the iPod firmware updater which upgraded my 2nd gen 20GB iPod to the 1.4 firmware. While playing I've noticed that the sound volume can sometimes jump up and down wildly between different albums and entirely different tracks. I listened to the exact same tracks before the upgrade and I never had this problem. I don't have Sound Check enabled and also didn't have it enabled before the upgrade. I'm wondering if the "enhances sound quality" aspect of the firmware upgrade is in reality borking up my music. Am I going to have to enable Sound Check to keep from having to adjust the volume constantly?
