i read on the forum that several people had success with mapping the MX900 buttons using Gamepad Companion. it's even in their reviews on VersionTracker.

but i cannot get it to work. could one of you successful MX900 owners give me a quick lesson?

i know i can map Expose, but i don't particularly like Expose, and this is like putting a bandaid on a skull fracture.

i want to map these functions:

-double click with one click of one of the buttons (nice Kensington Mouseworks feature)
-back button for Safari
-open a webpage
-is chording possible?

any help is appreciated.

you know, all of this is possible with Kensington Mouseworks. maybe i should return the MX900 and get the wireless StudioMouse (previously i've been using the wired version and happy other than the cord thing). i'm sure they'll go bluetooth at some point, but i cannot wait any longer.

thanks for the link, but no. it's not compatible.

it does what i need, but unfortunately doesn't do it for the MX900. $20 is a little steep too!

so, i decided that since i don't travel much, the RF wireless StudioMouse would be a better replacement for my wired StudioMouse. i'm returning the MX900.

also, i'm getting the black/silver version of the StudioMouse, since the white sides of my old one get dirty from use.

by the way, i asked kensington when they were going to do a Bluetooth StudioMouse, and they basically said they might have one soon. so i'll sell the RF version when that comes out.
