Hi,
I discovery today that the headphones that came with my iPod and tearing appart! One on the cords is tearing at the point where the cord spit to go into each ear.
I know the iPod has a 1 year warranty...does this warranty include the headhpones?
Thanks.
Hmm,
I'd been meaning to getting round to asking the same question…
My sister bought an iPod along with a PowerBook & HP printer last autumn (as part of the 'Have More Fun, Get More Done' promo) for the start of uni.
The wire on the left side of the earphones is actually exposed where it joins the white connecting 'hub' into the thicker part of the cable. The wires must be really loose, as hardly any sound emits from the left ear-bud - if at all. (She's not used them enough for this to be 'normal' wear & tear, just on train journeys between home & uni, and around campus).
I think I've heard of other cases of this happening to fairly new iPods, so it seems as if there may be a flaw with this part of the earphones - on some units at least.
So, I too would be interested to find out if this is covered under the warranty?
The only thing I remember when I sent my old-school iPod off for repair was that Apple explicitly stated
not to include earphones / accessories when returning. Have they updated this so that earphones can be sent away individually?
Interestingly, this problem has not occurred on my original iPod headphones, nor on my iPod headphones included with the remote i bought - both of which have been used extensively since 2002.
